Winning Woman Conference 2025—A River in the Desert

Greetings from Afaayo Africa Ministries, Uganda!

It has been a while since we last connected through this medium, and we trust that the Lord has kept you and your loved ones in His perfect peace.

On April 26th, we hosted the Winning Woman Conference 2025, a powerful and spirit-filled gathering under the theme “Rivers in the Desert”—“Se”“e, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” – Isaiah 43:19.

This year’s event brought together a vibrant mix of young women and women of all ages at Afaayo Bible Church, united by a hunger for healing, growth, and connection. The conference featured dynamic workshops, times of fellowship, and inspiring messages from multiple speakers across Uganda, and one special guest from the United States.

A Cry from Within

One of the most impactful moments came from the message titled “The Wounds of the Heart.” We were reminded that many women carry deep, invisible wounds—the kind that linger silently but touch every area of life.

A sobering truth was shared:

“The daughter of Zion has been pierced, and her wound is incurable.”

These wounds are not just personal; they ripple through families, churches, and entire communities.
When a woman is wounded, her home and society feel the effects. This brokenness often shows up in the form of betrayal, division, strife, and even divorce within the Body of Christ.

But There is Hope

Amidst the heaviness, our speakers led us to a place of hope and healing—rooted in the Word of God.
Healing begins when we fall in love with the Word, when we allow it to expose, cleanse, and restore our hearts.

Some of the life-giving scriptures shared included:

  • 📖 Isaiah 55:11 – “My Word… will not return to Me empty.”
  • 📖 Psalm 107:20 – “He sent His Word and healed them.”
  • 📖 Jeremiah 23:29 – “Is not My Word like fire… and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?”

These scriptures became anchors for many women in attendance. We witnessed moments of deep reflection, personal breakthrough, and testimonies of God’s healing touch.

Let the River Flow

In life’s desert seasons, God promises living water. He makes rivers flow where nothing seems possible.
Our prayer is that every woman who attended—and even those reading this now—will allow God’s river to flow freely in their hearts, bringing life, restoration, and renewed purpose.

Thank you for standing with us in prayer, support, and partnership. The journey of healing and restoration continues, and we are excited for what God is doing in the lives of women across Uganda and beyond.

With love and hope,
