RECOVERING FROM COVID-19 LOCK-DOWN EFFECTS

Hello our dear friend,
Greetings from Afaayo Africa Ministries, Uganda

It’s 3 months since we last heard from each other through this medium and trust the only good Lord has gracefully watched over you and yours faithfully, as we globally and gradually recover from COVID-19 lock-down effects.

Please, allow me introduce here what we shall describe as “Afaayo Kairos Moment” through which in all our communications we shall be enriching ourselves spiritually, considering that man is a spiritual being with a soul living in a body. For now, what is a Kairos moment?

Kairos is an event. For believers pursuing God, Kairos events are those God empowered moments when God teaches us by His Spirit. When Jesus started His ministry in Mark 1:15, He said, “The TIME is now, and The KINGDOM of God is at HAND /NEAR, repent and believe the Good news.” In the original language, the word for TIME in Mark 1:15, is the word KAIROS.
The timeline of your life constantly brings God APPOINTED MOMENTS where God invades your world and reveals Himself and His plans to you. These special moments are the times that the Kingdom of God BREAKS INTO your life for the purpose of BREAKING OUT all around you. In order to make the most of these moments, Jesus told His listeners in Mark 1:15 to REPENT (inner change), to BELIEVE (external change). God wants us His family to continuously experience His presence by really LISTENING when God speaks, deeply considering what He says and authentically trusting Him by doing what He says. When we do those three things (REPENT, BELIEVE & LISTENING) we practice the presence of God and experience spiritual breakthrough.
Please take a moment and reflect on your own Kairos moment(s)

Places of worship and schools opened under strict operational standard procedures…

Over the last 12 weeks, Uganda is experiencing more relaxation on the COVID-19 Presidential guidelines and as a result, more business enterprises are reopening. In the middle of this very month of October, schools will be opening up again though only for those in candidate classes and finalists in higher institutions of learning. And over the last weekend, places of worship were as well allowed to open amidst strict observance of ministry of health standard operational procedures and with a maximum attendance of 70 worshipers.

Aaron Tumusiime, an 11 year old young man in Primary 5, dreams of being a Pilot and his dream journey has been lit brightest when God blessed him with a sponsor.

A total of over 300 orphaned and highly vulnerable children have been duly identified and registered from within our community area from highly vulnerable families and with a donation of $40 a month you can sponsor a child and walk with him/her towards the realization of their life dreams just like Aaron.

Afaayo Bible Church (ABC) Registers first wedding.

It’s our fourth year since we planted Afaayo Bible Church and during this COVID-19 lock down, God has been gracious to John and Prossy that they were able to say “I DO” to each other by way of a scientific wedding.

Prossy happens to be one of the very first young ladies who accepted Jesus right at the very start of our ministry and therefore, witnessing her walk down the aisle as one of the first fruits of our growing ministry was such an amazing transformation work of God in her life. We bless the Lord for both the gifts of salvation and love.

Faith Run Global Event

Afaayo Africa Ministries (AAM) joined with CBC Faith Runs Global in a 5k Run or walk on the 12th of September, an event that was held in 14 other countries as we prophetically declared that amidst COVID-19 and its effects globally, “WE WILL RISE.”

During this event, more than 15 individuals were reached with the gospel of good news and 7 of them said yes to Jesus and committed their lives to Christ. Halleluia!
Shalom.
