His mother works hard to provide for the family, earning approximately $30 per month through small jobs and business activities. Despite the many financial challenges, she continues to prioritize her children’s education and well-being.
The family has faced seasons of hardship, including being sent home for unpaid school fees. However, their faith in God has remained strong. Simon often shares how his mother’s resilience and prayer life inspire him to keep trusting God and working hard.
Faith Journey
Simon’s faith journey began at home during the COVID-19 lockdown. With churches closed, his grandmother organized home fellowships where they sang, prayed, and studied God’s Word. During one of these meetings, Simon met Teacher Mary from Afaayo Bible Church, who became his mentor.
Through her encouragement, Simon joined Afaayo Bible Church, where he discovered his calling in worship. He gave his life to Christ after watching videos of children worshipping God on YouTube, and with his mother’s guidance, he prayed to receive Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior.
Later, God confirmed His calling on Simon’s life through a dream given to his mother, in which she was told to hand him a microphone, a sign of his calling into worship ministry.
Ministry Growth
At Afaayo Bible Church, Simon began serving faithfully in the children’s and youth ministries. Under the mentorship of Pastor Grace and Pastor Brian, he learned to lead worship, sing confidently, and minister to others through music.
He later joined the main choir and is now the leader of Team Arise one of the main worship teams at *Afaayo Bible Church. He also participates in youth services, teaches children, and assists in church events.
Simon believes worship is more than singing songs; it is exalting God and creating an atmosphere where He can speak, heal, and transform lives. He prays before every service that God will use him to touch others through worship.
Educational Support
For years, Simon struggled to stay in school because of unpaid fees. In 2025, through Mission Next Gen, he received a sponsorship from Yolanda in the United States. This support lifted a huge financial burden from his mother and gave Simon the stability to focus on his studies.
Simon is now able to attend school consistently and is determined to work hard toward his dream of becoming a doctor. He considers this opportunity a miracle and a sign of God’s continued faithfulness.
Impact of Afaayo Africa Ministries
Afaayo Africa Ministries has played a key role in Simon’s spiritual and personal growth. Through the church’s discipleship programs and youth gatherings, Simon has developed leadership, confidence, and a heart for ministry.
The ministry has also provided a supportive community, mentorship, and education support through Mission Next Gen. Simon often expresses deep gratitude for the opportunities Afaayo has created for him to grow in faith and education.
Hopes and Dreams
Simon’s long-term goal is to become a medical doctor. He desires to serve others, especially those in underprivileged communities, and to glorify God through his work. He also hopes to continue serving in ministry, mentoring other young people to use their gifts for God’s glory.
Simon’s Words
“When I lead worship, I feel peace in my heart knowing I am doing what God has called me to do.
Afaayo Africa has lifted the burden of school fees, allowing me to focus on my studies and my dream of becoming a doctor. My mother’s hard work inspires me every day—I want to make her proud and serve God with all my heart.”
