My name is Musoki Patricia. I am 15 years old and currently a Senior One student at Air Force Secondary School. In 2019, a friend invited me to join Afaayo Bible Church. At first, I didn’t want to go, but she encouraged me to come along. The church’s atmosphere immediately touched me that day—the worship music was so powerful and the preaching was inspiring. Pastor Michael delivered a sermon that profoundly touched my heart, ultimately inspiring me to commit my life to Christ. It wasn’t on my first visit, but as I kept coming back for youth services, the worship and teaching drew me in.

One day during a youth service, the pastor preached a sermon that touched me so much that when he called people to the altar, I went forward and surrendered my life to Christ. From that moment, my life began to change.

Before, I didn’t enjoy reading the Bible or listening to gospel music. After giving my life to Christ, I developed a love for reading Scripture and listening to worship songs. I began to discover gospel music more vibrant and uplifting than the worldly songs I used to enjoy. My lifestyle shifted; I found myself doing things I had never done before, like praying regularly, volunteering at church, and spending more time with people who love God.

One of the reasons I love Afaayo Bible Church is the warmth of its members. People here are God-fearing, caring, and devoted listeners. When you approach someone with a problem, they will take time to listen and help where they can. I remember a time when I didn’t have shoes; I told Uncle Brian about it, and he helped me with some money so I could buy a pair. That act of kindness showed me the love of Christ in action.

Another reason I love Afaayo Bible Church is because of my pastors. Pastor Michael and Auntie Grace are God-fearing and approachable. Unlike some pastors who seem distant, they are warm, friendly, and always ready to offer a smile or a joke. They truly care for their congregation.

At Afaayo Bible Church, I serve as an usher and also sing in the worship team. We minister in shifts: when it’s not my turn to sing with the worship team, I do ushering. Serving in these ministries has been fulfilling for me because I have always loved music and serving others.

At home, life has not been easy. We are three children raised by our single mother. My father passed away when I was ten years old, and since then, my mother has struggled to provide for us. She works at a small restaurant called Inofin Hotel and earns very little—about 100,000 shillings a month. With that income, she also tries to run a small kiosk at home to provide food and basic needs for us. However, the money she makes is never enough to cover rent, medical care, and school fees. Many times, I was sent home from school because we couldn’t afford the tuition, and it was painful and discouraging.

Then I heard about Afaayo Africa’s Mission Next Gen program. The day I learned they would support my school fees, I felt so happy and relieved because I knew I wouldn’t be sent home anymore. My mother also rejoiced, saying, “Thank God, my daughter will not be sent back home again.” It felt like a miracle.

Now that my tuition is covered, I am studying diligently to achieve my dream of becoming a surgeon. Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated by the human heartbeat and the idea of saving lives. My passion is to see people receive excellent healthcare and live healthy lives. With God’s help and the support, I’ve received, I believe I will achieve this dream.
