My name is Forrest Brian Muwanga, and it is a joy to share my journey of faith and ministry at Afaayo Bible Church.

How God Led Me to Afaayo Bible Church,
As a young boy, I lived with my cousin sister—my caregiver, my spiritual guide, and the first person who showed me Christ. When she passed away, I felt lost and unsure of my future. I thought I would return to the village, but God had prepared another path.
Through Pastor Michael and the Child Care Project he began, I received support for my education. That act of love created a bond that later drew me to join him when he started Afaayo Bible Church, when it was just him, his wife, and their little daughter. I offered my small piano skills and simply said, “Pastor, I want to serve with you.”
That decision changed my life.
Growing Through Service
At Afaayo, I found purpose. I began as a keyboard player, then became a Sunday School teacher as more children started coming. Later, when teenagers began filling the church, I was part of starting the youth ministry. Looking back, I can see that God had been preparing me for it all along.
The Youth Ministry Breakthrough
Guided by Psalm 119:11, our mission became clear:To help young people know Christ deeply and live like Him.We formed L-O-4-J (Live Out for Jesus), and God grew us from just 5–10 youths to over 100 attending weekly activities.
To reach even more young people—especially those in school—we launched the Youth #AblazeFestival. Today, the festival draws between 200 and 300 youths every month. Many come hungry or without basic needs, so even offering a small snack has become part of how we minister. With strong support from Pastor Michael and Pastor Grace, I now serve as the Youth Pastor, and truly, the harvest is great.
My Heart for Worship
Music is part of my daily life—I can’t go a day without it. Becoming the Worship Pastor has brought me even closer to God. Worship draws us into God’s heart and helps us experience His love.
At Afaayo, worship is joyful, full of dancing, thanksgiving, and freedom. Our choir is one of the youngest in Entebbe, yet also one of the most impactful. Many members came from broken backgrounds, but today they lead worship with passion and purity. Music keeps them grounded and walking closely with Christ.
Leadership That Raises Leaders
Afaayo Bible Church is a place where people grow.Pastor Michael and Pastor Grace are leaders who empower others. They give opportunities, build people, and believe in potential. I came with little skill, but through their mentorship, I now lead worship, pastor the youth, play instruments, teach, and lead two missional communities.
Creative Arts at Afaayo
As the leader of Creative Arts, I’ve seen God grow us. Last year, in our Christmas production, I acted as Herod, and that experience was very powerful for me. Even though it wasn’t a “good” character I would normally prefer, it gave me a moment to communicate why Christ came.
I wanted to show how furious Herod was when he heard about the Savior—because many people today feel the same way. They don’t want to receive Christ as Savior; they fear He is coming to interrupt the pleasures and lifestyles that go against God’s character. Herod saw the birth of Jesus as a threat to his kingdom, and I wanted to portray that truthfully.
I thank God I was able to do it. It strengthened my confidence to use this gift for His glory.
I want to take this opportunity to wish all our friends and partners of Afaayo African Ministries a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2026. May this season bring everything Christ intends for our lives.
