When Jen from San Antonio, Texas, landed in Uganda for her first mission trip, she had no idea how deeply God would move in her heart. Together with a team from CBC, she joined Afaayo Africa Ministries to serve in communities across Entebbe, Buyege, and Kayunga — bringing hope, prayer, and the love of Jesus to families in need.

Jen describes her time in Uganda as both humbling and life-changing.

“I’ve learned that coming here, I’m very humbled. The people, the situations, they’ve taught me so much. I’ve learned that a servant’s heart is something special. And when you give out of the love of your heart, God will continue to bless you. That circle continues, and the fruits just keep multiplying.”

During an outreach in Buyege, Jen met a woman who was struggling to forgive after deep personal pain. That moment brought Jen face-to-face with her own story, learning to forgive the man responsible for her brother’s death. Through tears and compassion, she shared how God helped her release bitterness and find healing through forgiveness.

“Forgiveness isn’t for them, it’s for us,” she said. “It frees our hearts from anger and gives Jesus room to fill that space so we can love and serve again.”

At the Winning Women Conference, Jen shared her testimony and was amazed to see how her story connected across cultures.

“I didn’t know my story would cross cultures, but it did. The same Jesus who loves me in San Antonio loves everyone here in Uganda.”

From nervous plane rides to powerful ministry moments, Jen’s journey became a testimony of obedience, love, and transformation.
