A Message from our Founder

Greetings

I am Michael Daniels Ssekandi the team leader at Afaayo Africa ministries (AAM) and the Lead Pastor of Afaayo Bible Church (ABC). Grace, my wife and I have two lovely biological children, Michaela & Marshal plus countless others under our parenthood.
I hope and pray that God has kept you and your loved ones alive and well through these COVID-19 times.

Allow me introduce Afaayo Africa Ministries (AAM), a Christian organization we founded in 2012 with my wife to minister to the orphaned & vulnerable children and families in Uganda.
‘Afaayo’ is a word in our local language (Luganda) literally meaning “God Cares”.

Afaayo Africa Ministries (AAM) is derived from 1Peter 5:7 “…cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you…” (NIV).
Having been born in a polygamous family and raised up as an orphan in multiple orphanages after losing both my parents to HIV/AIDS, at the age of twelve (12) Christ found & called me into ministry and it was through this encounter that my life was holistically transformed.
Years later, God put such a conviction within my heart to start a ministry organization and therefore, AAM responds to the heart cry of children and families caught up in vulnerable situations.

Your friend,
Michael Daniels Ssekandi
Team leader, Afaayo Africa Ministries

Who we are

Afaayo Africa therefore reaches out to the community through the sponsorship program that transforms children with emphasis on biblical discipleship and education. Our Mercy program restores hope among vulnerable families as we preach Christ to them for transformation in their hearts as well as extending a helping hand through feeding and sustainability projects.

COVID-19 Update

“Raise a meal campaign”

As the pandemic spreads and affects every sphere of life, thousands are losing their loved ones due the global scourge. In Uganda, the government declared a total lock down among the many varied preventive measures in order to restrain mass spread.
However, the same restrictions are creating another death trap of hunger and starvation among families where our children live. Most of these families survive on a hand to mouth income basis, thus unable to sustain themselves for many days without food.
Through Afaayo Mercy Program (AMP) Raise A meal campaign, we are raising funds for food and cleaning supplies which include basically; Posho(corn-meal), beans, sugar and a bar of soap. We have so far reached out to over 30 families with a household of 4-5 people in a single home. We hope that each family can depend on the $25.00 food package for a week.

Our desire is to reach out to as many other vulnerable families as possible for a rescue through this season of COVID-19 lockdown.  We humbly pray and ask you to prayerfully consider supporting a family with a meal package for a week at a cost of $25.00
